OMEGA Seamaster & Innovation

The OMEGA Seamaster collection has a rich history of pushing the boundaries of technology and materials in watchmaking. In their latest release, the Planet Ocean Dark Grey, OMEGA continues this legacy by introducing silicon nitride ceramic [Si3N4] on a large scale for the first time in a timepiece. The outcome is a rugged and lightweight watch that's ideal for adventurous souls.

A New Addition to the Material Family

Silicon nitride ceramic, a new addition to OMEGA's repertoire, has been used extensively in the construction of the Planet Ocean Dark Grey. This material, known for its durability and lightweight properties, brings a new level of comfort to the wearer while ensuring that the watch can withstand the rigors of exploration. It's been employed in crafting the 45.5 mm case body, the patented NAIAD LOCK caseback, and the bezel ring.

Built to Last

To complement the silicon nitride ceramic, OMEGA has incorporated Grade 5 titanium in various parts of the watch. This titanium variant is a favorite in the aerospace industry for its combination of strength and lightness. It's used for the bezel body, strap folding clasp, and the sand-blasted dial. The dial features anthracite hands and indexes, maintaining the watch's robust yet elegant design.

OMEGA's Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8906 is constructed from Grade 5 Titanium, making it exceptionally lightweight. It also includes a GMT function, ensuring precise timekeeping and high-performance functionality. This remarkable movement is showcased behind a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, offering a clear view of the intricate mechanisms at work.

It boasts an impressive water resistance of up to 600 meters, aligning with the Seamaster collection's legacy of ocean-ready timepieces. This level of water resistance ensures that the watch can handle underwater exploration and various aquatic activities without compromising its performance.
