At Balance & Bridge, UNIMATIC has become something of a recurring character — a brand whose clean industrial design, thoughtful engineering, and steady stream of purposeful releases have found a natural home across the site. We’ve covered many of their drops over the years, from limited collaborations to core-model evolutions, and each one seems to push the brand’s minimalist toolkit into new territory. Their latest launch, the Italian Alps Collection, continues that pattern in a way that feels both familiar and genuinely forward-looking.

UNIMATIC’s latest release, the Italian Alps Collection, pulls straight from the crisp light and quiet drama of high altitude. The Italian Alps have this particular kind of clarity — the kind you feel as much as you see — and the brand leans fully into that atmosphere through cool, elemental colorways and a surprising leap forward in lume technology. It’s a release that feels grounded in the familiar UNIMATIC language, but with enough new engineering and visual depth to mark a fresh chapter.

The big story here is UNILIGHT, UNIMATIC’s newly developed three-dimensional luminous system. Instead of traditional flat lume plots, each dial carries hand-applied 3D markers infused with a high-performance pigment. They rise above the dial like sculpted ridgelines, catching the light during the day and glowing with a vivid, even radiance at night. It’s not just brighter — it creates an architectural presence on the dial, adding dimension in a way that feels modern without being flashy. For a brand known for clean lines and minimal forms, this subtle shift creates a huge impact.

Supporting that visual upgrade is UNIMATIC’s proprietary 360° anti-shock system, also debuting here. The internal protective shell and dial-top reinforcing ring are crafted in Italy from a specialized TPU blend, designed to shield the movement from impact while keeping the overall wear light and comfortable. It’s the kind of innovation you don’t immediately notice, but you feel reassured knowing it’s there — especially in a watch meant to nod toward rugged alpine conditions, even if most owners will wear it on everyday pavement.
Each reference comes fitted on a fumo deer leather strap, made in Italy and full of natural grain and texture. The soft, slightly smoky tone of the leather pairs beautifully with both dial colors, and it’s the sort of strap that takes on patina quickly. For a collection inspired by weathered rock and trail-worn surfaces, it feels like an intentionally organic touch.
Across the release, UNIMATIC uses two familiar silhouettes — the Modello Uno and the Modello Cinque — offered in two colorways each. Alpine Sky Blue channels that almost surreal brightness you get on cold, clear mountain days, while Glacier White takes its cue from fresh snow under direct sun. Both are crisp, clean, and instantly tied to the landscape that inspired them.

In the Modello Uno references UT1-AS (Alpine Sky Blue) and UT1-GO (Glacier White), the design takes shape around UNIMATIC’s signature dive-watch form. The sandblasted 316L stainless steel case, screw-down crown, and individually pressure-tested 300-meter water resistance anchor it firmly in tool-watch territory. Dark gray dial printing keeps the visuals restrained, while the matte black bezel insert with a raised lume pip ties the whole design together. Inside, the reliable Quartz VH31A movement benefits from the full TPU anti-shock shell. Each colorway is limited to 300 pieces, individually numbered, and finished with a dedicated Italian Alps engraved caseback — a detail collectors will appreciate. At 550 EUR, it’s a compelling mix of design purity, new tech, and everyday durability.

The Modello Cinque references UT5-AS and UT5-GO bring the same alpine vision into a compact, do-everything 36mm format. It’s the kind of size that wears comfortably on almost any wrist and blends easily into just about any setting. Like the Uno, the Cinque features 3D UNILIGHT markers, dark gray accents, and a dial that balances clarity with texture. The stainless steel phantom ladder hands add an understated touch, while the Super-LumiNova C1 tip on the seconds hand adds a small but sharp highlight. The VH31A movement sits inside the same 360° anti-shock structure, and the watch still carries 300 meters of water resistance plus a double-domed sapphire crystal. Also limited to 300 pieces per colorway and priced at 495 EUR, the Cinque feels like a well-considered all-rounder that doesn’t need to try too hard.
UNIMATIC will launch the Italian Alps Collection on December 3rd, 2025 at 5:00 PM CET, exclusively on unimaticwatches.com and through selected retailers. With each reference capped at 300 units, and with UNILIGHT making its first appearance here, this is one of those releases that signals a turning point for the brand — restrained in aesthetics, ambitious in engineering, and anchored in a landscape that leaves an impression long after you’ve left it.

The collection also reflects UNIMATIC’s design philosophy more broadly. Founded in 2015 by industrial designers Giovanni Moro and Simone Nunziato, the brand continues to refine traditional watch silhouettes through a modern, functional lens. Their focus on clarity, simplicity, and material integrity comes through clearly in this release. The Italian Alps Collection stays true to that identity while introducing the kind of thoughtful innovation — both visual and structural — that keeps UNIMATIC firmly at the front of contemporary Italian watchmaking.
